We are in a bit of a strange time right now leaving everyone asking “what do we do now?” I have set my focus on making the best of things. I am grateful for the time with my family and the time to get some things done around the house (you can join our spring cleaning group at the bottom of this page if you want in). One thing I am shifting my focus to is the reality that we are going to be out of our normal routine for quite a while. I put together a list of all the things you need from Amazon while staying home during the quarantine.
In order to practice social distancing it is much safer to order online right now. Amazon has awesome stuff to enjoy the family and even work in some learning while you are doing it.
I have a wonderfully supportive Facebook group of moms called All About That Mom Life. Join the community to stay up to date on resources for your kids and all things that support moms!
After you’ve watched Frozen II on Disney+ at least 13 times, taken a bike ride, played on the IPad, jumped on the trampoline, and built a fort all by 11:00 am the kids will be bored and looking for something new to do. I am only half joking. This craft box is pretty neat and comes with a ton of things. Plus, you can count it as “art class” if you are home schooling.
We love to play board games in our house. It is a great time to connect as the family. You can check out our family’s favorite board games here. We will be adding to our collection over this extended break with Sequence for Kids and some others.
What a great time to work on puzzles. Theses Disney puzzles are so cute and are perfect for all ages. We have a little Disney obsession in our hosue right now. Heck, we will probably watch the movie that goes with each puzzle while we do it. What I like about puzzles is it becomes a group activity. Everyone can participate at the same time and no matter what level you are, no one is left out. Everyone is able to participate at their own level and their own pace.
The weather is starting to warm up in Denver and we are excited to spend more and more time outside, especially since we have will have cooped up for so long. Do you kids love bubbles as much as mine do? They are always asking to play with them. I think they make a huge mess, but the truth is they are cheap and the kids love them. Just because we are practicing social distancing does not we can’t get outside.
We plan to do some competitions in the next coming weeks. One of the competitions will be a chalk drawing contest. How cute are these sweet easter shaped chalk I found? I actually really love to draw chalk with the kids. It’s a great way to get outside and just let their creativity go!
Shut the front door! Look how awesome these kites are! You can color them before taking them outside. My kids saw these and lost their minds. You can get these in three packs or even six packs which is perfect for my group as they aren’t the best at sharing when it comes to things like this.
Win win! This will cover that science and home economics unit in one shot. I am only slightly kidding. Kids love to bake and this kit is pretty awesome as it brings science into it. I don’t know about you but my kids love all things science which is why I love this option instead of the traditional cookies.
What I love about things like this science kit, is it makes learning fun. In fact, the kids always beg to do these things. It’s super fun and I would be lying if I said I didn’t learn a thing or two in the process! This makes the list of things you need from Amazon while staying home during quarantine because it connects to education which is something we are all struggling to implement each day.
I just know this no mess color mat will provide hours of fun for the kids. It’s great because even my littlest at two years old can do this one because it just involves water and not actual markers. . You can put it on the floor and let them go to town.
Oh how I used to love these drawing books when I was younger. This book is awesome because you it has a new drawing to do for each day. My kids love a routine, (all kids do in reality) and I know that they will see this as a “task” they need to complete each day which is really fun.
Remember that the best thing you can do for your kids and family right now is provide structure. The break from school is unprecedented as it will last longer than the typical spring break.
If you are starting to work on homeschooling with your kids, you might find this post helpful.
Set a new routine to help your kids adjust to their new normal. All the things you need from Amazon while staying home during quarantine will help to keep your kids busy but teach them something along the way. Good luck mommas! You’ve got this.
