Okay, if you are anything like me, you’ve tried every cleaning appliance and tool that has ever been created. I think at one point, I had six different mops. I was always on the search for the next best thing or to find the cleaning tools that would do the best job. Well look no further! Let my lessons in the world of cleaning be passed on to you. Here are the only cleaning tools that you will ever need to get the job done.
All vacuums are definitely NOT created equal. Oh how many vacuum cleaners I have tried over the years. Out of all the brands I have tried I am pretty partial to Dyson. Also, just recently, I switched to this Dyson V8 Animal Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner and I am in love. I will never go back to a vacuum that has a cord. Not to mention, this vacuum is so powerful and is amazing with dog hair. My husband has allergies so I literally vacuum everyday to keep up on the dog hair and this sucker (pun intended) really does the trick. It works great on hardwood floor and carpet. There’s a reason why it is on the top of my list of must have cleaning tools that everyone needs.
- I am able to whip through the house without having to stop and move the cord. I can go up and down the stairs so quickly because it’s super light weight.
- It has so many attachments which allows me to vacuum the couch, pick up food in my daughter’s high chair and so on. After we bought this vacuum we were able to get rid of our dirt devil because we no longer had a need.
- The battery life is not super long. If you are good at putting it back on the charger when you aren’t using it, you’ll be just fine.
The majority of our home is hardwood and tile. I absolutely love my Shark Lift Away Pro Steam Pocket Mop. The reason that I love it so much is that I don’t have to use any chemicals or products. Using just distilled water, the mop creates hot steam which cleans the floor so well. It also detaches from the mop and can be used to steam clothes, curtains, grout, really anything you can think of. Any cleaning tool that serves more than one function is a needed tool!
- It takes seconds to heat up and is ready to clean almost instantly.
- The pad is removable and machine washable.
- No expensive products needed.
- It serves multiple functions.
- It has a pretty short cord which doesn’t allow you to go from room to room.
- The steam gets really hot and can burn you if you’re not careful.
If you don’t own a carpet shampooer it’s time to get one! I used to spend a ton of money renting carpet cleaners and paying companies to professionally clean my carpets. While it is nice to have your carpets professionally cleaned once per year, I just love having a carpet shampooer. I like the Hoover Smartwash Automatic Carpet Cleaner. Not unlike vacuum cleaners, I have tried many different shampooers. I clean my carpets at least once a month. I am not kidding. Listen, before you think I am going over board, check out this shampooer. I don’t use any product (professionals have actually told me carpet shampoo is really bad for your carpet). I simply use hot water and run this shampooer through the rooms with carpet once per month. It is easy to use and keeps the carpet fresh and clean.
Yes! The IRobot Roomba is worth all the hype. When you are a working mom, there’s nothing sweeter than a cleaning tool that works while you are asleep. I mean really? I wish I had two of these, one for the upstairs and one for the downstairs. The greatest part is that you can control it with your phone. I am not kidding you when I say I lay in bed and turn on my Roomba. I love waking up and seeing all the carpet tracks from the roomba, knowing that the house is clean. This is one of the best cleaning tools on the market.
These four cleaning tools literally get all the jobs done. Between cleaning hardwood floors, tiles or carpet one of these will do the trick. Whether you are completing your weekly chores or looking to do some serious deep cleaning, I hope this list was helpful for you. I have no need for any other cleaning tools or appliances taking up space in my home.
